Forte brushes are robust and strong, with typical German manufacture ensuring they last longer than many other similar priced brushes. They have a clean, sharp shape and respond well to the artists movements. Forte brushes are best suited to painting with heavy body and impasto paints.
A large flat brush is called a mottler, and these are generally used for varnishing, softening, and large area painting.
